Hansi Flick aims to lead Barcelona to victory despite facing tough Girona.

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has admitted Girona are a difficult side to play against, with Miguel Angel Sanchez Muñoz’s side also playing well, but the German boss insists the Blaugrana will give their all to continue winning runs, UFABET Sport reports on Saturday.

Flick has made a fine start to his tenure as Barcelona manager, winning his first four games of the season, most recently a 7-0 thrashing of Real Valladolid before the international break, and the German boss is set to lead his side to a trip to Girona on Sunday.

‘It will be a tough game because they are playing well too. It will be a tough game and it will be very skillful, but we want to keep winning after winning the first four games. Everyone will have to play their best.’

‘It’s a Champions League game, they did very well last season, but we know how we have to play and I hope we can do it,’ Flick said.

Asked what kind of challenge he expects Barcelona to face from Girona, the Barca boss replied: ‘We know one of their strengths is possession. We will have to press well and defend as a team, holding good positions and not being too far away from the opponent. It will be a great game. ‘

‘We are ready and hopefully we can show that tomorrow. My team likes to have possession too and if we can do that then we have a chance to win the game.’

Girona got the better of Barcelona in both of their games last season, winning both 4-2, but Flick insists he is not looking back to the past.

‘We don’t look back. Tomorrow is a big day. Girona played good football. They played well. We have to play 100 per cent defense.’

‘This is a Champions League game and we are looking forward to it. It will be a good test before facing Monaco on Thursday.’
